1) DISCUSSION POST

Making It Personal

Using Hite and Seitz (2016), relevant supplemental resources, and assignments, you reviewed and assessed the major threats to global well-being. You were challenged to craft an informed perspective on the issues covered each week.

Has your thinking about any of the issues covered in this course changed from when you began the course? If so, which ones changed? If not, was any of your thinking further solidified by issues covered in this course? Explain.

Review the posts of your classmates and respond to at least one other post, offering a substantive comment on that classmate’s position on the issue(s)

2) PEER REVIEW #1 (tyrone)

Hello everyone,

My thinking about all the issues covered in this course has changed. I think you all can agree from the first weeks post LOL. This class has open my eyes to issues that I have heard about of course but I have never read or done reports on them in the past. I think what has stood out the most in this class and these issues that were discussed is how they affect us all on many levels. Not only those in poor and undeveloped countries but also us here in the U.S. We are experiencing global warming throughout the country almost every season on many different levels. We suffer from the use of natural resources, the possibilities of them being depleted and the affects of population growth here in the U.S. I think we need to be more conscious and aware of these issues and bring them more to the forefront. This class was a pleasure and I enjoyed everyone and their comments. Take care

3) PEER REVIEW #2 (ANIKA)

Hello Everyone,

Even though I have had this course before, This time based on the expectations and feedback from Professor Lunsford and also from everyone’s post. I focused more on the actual content versus the expectation of meeting unreasonable criteria. With that aside…

Our text Hite and Seitz (2016) explained how governments today are implementing some policies to control the growth of populations. Controlling and addressing this ongoing population problem requires worldwide commitment and collaboration from everyone as this affects the global environment and resources available. I also learn overpopulation is associated with negative environmental and economic outcomes ranging from the impacts of over-farming, deforestation, water pollution, and global warming. It is important for developing and undeveloped countries to get educated on how to develop and keep water and food supplies as high populations can cause scarcity in resources. While I am in no way a scientist, this class allow me to become more aware of the importance of protecting the environment and other global issues I was never really interested in. Earth can provide us the necessary resources to survive but it is up to the current population to make necessary changes to avoid extinction. We made it to the end… Best Wishes to Everyone and Happy Holidays!
